The project was developed by the regional ministry of education in cooperation with the “Udokan copper” company. This was reported by the press service of the company.
According to the chief geologist Arslan Koshanov, the students should already imagine what specialties will be in demand at the future mining and processing plant — millers, geologists, miners, concentrators, power engineers. Together with the teachers, classes are conducted by specialists from the “Udokan Copper” company. They invited high school students to the sites where the workshops of the plant are being built. The first visit will take place on March 13th. According to Mikhail Zhdanov, head of the department for relations with municipal public organizations of LLC Udokanskaya Med, the program is extensive, large. It is designed not only for graduation classes. “We start our program from the eighth grade, right when the personality is being formed, when people begin to think about what they will do in life,” Mikhail Zhdanov noted. The organizers plan to involve in the educational process representatives of secondary specialized and higher educational institutions of Chita, in which in the future schoolchildren can get one or another specialty required in production. In addition, the so-called «live lessons» will be conducted by geologists, ore-dressing workers and miners themselves.
